Barber and his wife, Gladys, was born at Beatrice, Gago county, Nebraska, on Sept. 18, 1927. i Ho grew up in this community and attended ils schools.

On Nov. 27, 1947, be was married to Mary Trap at Fairbury. To this union one son was born, who survives the father's untimely death. In company with a friend, they were near Fairbury, on Saturday 2, 3950, when their car skidded off the highway and down a deep embankment, sometime between 3 and 4 p. m.

Following the accident, Ralph was rushed to a Beatrice hospital where he lived the next morning and then passed away. He leaves his wife, and son, Gary Dean; his aged parents and the following brothers and sisters: Jimme Barber, Fairbury; Kenneth Barber, Kairbury; Darlene Sewell, Beatrice; Etta Joiner, Beatrice; Carol Barber, Fairbury; Wauneta Huskins, Fairbury. Funeral services were held from Harman mortuary, Beatrice, Tuesday, Dec. 5, 1950 at 2 p. with Pastor John Strong officiating.

Interment was in Evergreen Home cemetery. Frank P. Buckholz, jr. Frank P. Buckholz, was born Dec.

24, 1891, in the state of Nebraska. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Buckholz, sr. lie spent his boyhood in Beatrice where ho was married to his wife, Nettie, Sept.

21, 1914. To this union were born seven children. The oldest child, Frances, proceeded him in death. He was employed at the Dempster Mill Manufacturing Company for 35 years as a foundry workei. He retired two years ago, due to poor health and moved to Pueblo, Colo.

He passed away in Pueblo, Sept. 10, 1950. Surviving are his wife, Nettie, three sons, Phillip, Raymond, and Robert, Pueblo, Colo; and three daughters, Vivian Lovvery, Evelyn Sample of Pueblo and Dorothy Jamison of Akron, eight grandchildren; four brothers, Paul Buckholz of Lincoln, John Portland, Joe of Beatrice Martin of Topeka, three sisters, Mrs. Augusta Rowe, Rockford, Mrs. Gertrude Maguire, Beatrice, and Mrs.

Rose Gerdes, Be atricc. Funeral services were held al St. Joseph's Catholic church Thursday, Sept. 14, 1950. Msgr.

G. Mock officiated and burial was in St. Joseph Catholic cemetery. Pall bearers were Phillip Buckholz, Raymond Buckholz, Robert Buckholz, Thomas Lovvery, Oliver Sample and Gary Jamison. CARNIVAL; fey Dick: Turn el Beatrice Daily Sun, tteatrico, DM.

William Harms Tjaden William Harms Tjaden, son ot Harm Tjadehand his wife, Antje, nee Fossler, was born in Germany on April 27, 1867. When he was nine months old he accompanied his parents to America. Having received his Christian name in Holy Baptism over in the old country, he was reared in public and church schools here at the State Line Lutheran Church to which his parents belonged. He grew up in the State Line community and helped on the farm all his life.

He was never married. With a sister he lived here in Beatrice 23 years. Both of them were conscientious in their Church membership and attendance. His sister died several years ago and he made his home on Ella street by himself. For about a year he had been ill.

Several times he went to the hospital but always returned lome and appeared in good humor. He was so very faithful in his 'hurch work. About one week ago he took ill again and was removed to the hospital. There he lingered along until Wednesday morning, Nov. 22, 1950 when he passed He had reached the age of 83 years, six months, and 25 days.

He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Mar- Hemmers and Mrs. Emma Ubben, both of Beatrice. Funeral services were held from Griffiths Funeral home at 1 Saturday, Nov. 25, 1950, Tom St.

John Lutheran Church, Beatrice, with Pastor John Strong officiating. A ladies duet sang: "Abide with Me, and "Nearer my God to A short service was held at 1m- manuel Lutheran Church, Wymore (State Line) where 'M'r. Tjaden had lived many years. ln- was in the family lot on Immanuel Lutheran Cemtery.
